Summer accessories?  Yes!  It is not over yet!  It’s not too late, we still have a bit of our beautiful summer left to enjoy, so why not do that with a few fun, fresh accessories?

Accessories are always a must but when it’s hot and humid out I don’t always feel like wearing something heavy or “sticky”…these are all so light and pretty. As a matter of fact…for those who know me, know that I love a necklace, a bag, even bracelets but I don’t very often wear earrings…in any weather really. It’s not that I don’t like them it’s just that I feel like I’m getting too “gussied up”…they just don’t feel like me. The other (bigger) problem is that in my heyday (ha!) in the 80’s I wore those very big, very heavy earrings that we all wore back then…and my poor earlobes suffered for it for sure…80’s fashion damage (but so worth it).  For that reason all the earrings I picked here are so light and made of natural materials that I don’t even realize I’m wearing them.

I had noticed a few standout items on Instagram and Pinterest and quickly realized everything I was liking (really loving!) were made from rattan and straw and even some were wood. All such simple materials… but yet make such unique, playful and perfect additions to your summer wardrobe. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, hats…yes, I have a real love for hats…don’t wear them often but still just can’t resist a cute one.

You can even just throw on a tank top and add one or two of any of these pieces and it will instantly elevate your look. Oh, and they also look fantastic with those maxi dresses I love!

The other great thing about these is even though you may not wear them year round I found such great deals that you won’t feel so bad getting a few!

OK, This is kind of a weird one…it isn’t jewelry but it surely is a necessary Summer Accessory! It’s great for several situations (sports, workouts, walking, etc) but really comes in handy for me for those horrid hot flashes 😦 (I’m actually wearing it right now as I’m sitting on my deck writing this blog) Very helpful accessory!
